Az első adventi gyertya meggyújtása után a BEBE ANGOL foglalkozásokon is elkezdtünk a karácsonyra hangolódni. Szerencsére nagyon sok jó angol karácsonyi gyerekdal létezik, úgyhogy lesz miből válogatni az elkövetkező 2-3 héten is, de az összeset megmutatni lehetetlen, így gondoltam, csinálok most egy kis egyveleget a karácsonyi, téli angol gyerekdalokból.

Az idén ugyan még nem esett igazi hó, de ezen a héten a BEBE ANGOL foglalkozáson már rendesen havazott. Tavaly is, és az idén is nagy sikert aratott a hópelyhes formalyukasztó, aminek a segítségével minden kis gyermeknek varázsoltunk saját kis hópelyhet. Az égből hulló hópehely aztán hol a fejünkre, hol a lábunkra, hol az orrunkra esett. Nagyon szeretem ezt a hópelyhes dalocskát, amiről korábban már írtam, mert nagyon jól lehet vele a testrészeket gyakorolni, és bűbájos a dallama is. A gyerekek pedig nagyon élvezik, ahogy a hópehellyel a térdükön egyensúlyoznak.

A sok kis hópehelyből aztán képzeletben gyúrtunk egy nagy hóembert is, és elénekeltük a Super Simple Songs karácsonyi CD-jén szereplő I'm A Little Snowman dalocskát az I'm A Little Teapot dallamára, amiről a múltkor írtam.

Kihagyhatatlan a foglalkozásokon a Jingle Bells, amit most már végre bátran énekelhetünk. Voltak foglalkozások, amikor picit aggódtam, hogy vajon mit gondolnak az ablak alatt elsétálók, amikor a tavaszi-nyári napsütésben a Jingle Bells nótát harsogtuk. Nagy kedvenc ez, és a gyerekek kívánságának nehéz ellenállni, ha esik, ha fúj.

Állatokról is tanulhatunk karácsony táján angol gyerekdalokból. Az egyik a rénszarvas a jól ismert Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer dalból, ami a kis pirosorrú rénszarvas története dalba sűrítve.

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him,
you would even say it glows.

All of the other reindeer
used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolph
join in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve

Kevésbé ismert viszont a kis szamárról szóló angol gyerekdal, a Little Donkey, ami pillanatnyilag az én nagy kedvencem. Naponta elénekelem itthon gitárral a gyerekeknek, annyira tetszik, és olyan jól hangzik gitárral is.

Szintén nem annyira ismert itt Magyarországon az Away in a manger, pedig egy nagyon szép angol karácsonyi dalocska, igazán ünnepváró hangulattal. Amikor Angliában voltam, karácsony körül nagyon sokszor énekeltük ezt a dalt a templomban a Wellington College kórusával, az idén pedig itt Biatorbágyon énekli majd a Pászti kórus a karácsonyi hangversenyén.

A Csendes éj nem annyira tartozik a gyerekdalok közé, de annyira szép angolul a szövege, hogy érdemes megismerni. Ha a gyerekek csak annyit jegyeznek meg belőle, hogy Silent Night, már megérte megmutatni nekik. Mi felnőttek pedig gyönyörködjünk az angol szövegben.
